Idalia Rodriguez is a Bilingual; Spanish speaking Licensed Professional Counselor Associate.

Idalia was born in El Salvador and migrated to Texas at the age of 5 with her family. She is a

first-generation graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and a Master’s Degree in

Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Sam Houston State University.

Her Journey in Mental health began 12 years ago with the Harris Center for Mental and IDD as a

care coordinator in the Crisis division. Idalia has experience working with individuals with

various mental health concerns including trauma related disorders, anxiety, depression, life

transitions, and grief/loss. Idalia is committed to evolving and learning as a professional

counselor for the betterment of her clients. Her role is to meet you where you are and assist you

to achieve your greatest goals in life using tools such as motivational interviewing and Cognitive

behavioral therapy. Her goals in therapy are to provide a safe space where you are free to express

yourself and feel validated and respected.

On her free time, Idalia enjoys spending time with her kids; traveling, visiting Texas State Parks

and the large variety of things that Texas has to offer.
