Stress, anxiety and depression - including elderly care

I have a Bachelor's degree in Child Development and a Masters degree in Social Work. I am a Licensed Master Social Worker and currently being supervised by Brittany Woodley, LCSW-S to obtain my Clinical Social Work License. My career as a Social Worker began while working at the Department of Family and Protective Services, working with families being investigated for reported abuse and neglect. During this time I provided families with resources which afforded them the necessary support to strengthen their families.  I also have a background in working with geriatric clients, providing emotional support, case management in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospice and outpatient geriatric care. Throughout my career I began to interact with families that lacked the skills to build on their own strengths.  This is where I cultivated my passion to help others. I believe when people are given the support they need to draw on their own strengths they are able to develop and move toward their aspirations. I use a therapeutic approach to evaluate each person within their environment, provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. I provide individual and family therapy for  adolescents, adults and older adults. My expertise include: stress, anxiety and depression, crisis intervention, effective coping, life transitions, family/relationship issues, and personal growth. My goal is building relationships with my clients which is a significant part of healing and for my clients to reach their full potential.
